well i had them in the iso folder, which used for older emulators, and jus tried putting them in the PSP/GAME/ folder, now they've completely dissapeared when i go into games on the psp menu, and when i switch my psp on after rbooing i get a blank screen, except for background wallpaper, untill i take the umd out, is this at all normal. is it possible for me to revert my psp to before adding the custom fw, then begin the process all over again? Also i read ur earlier post which stated that a folder named CASUAL would be created after adding the custom firmware, however i have not got one the root of my psp.
I apologise for being a complete noob, and would be very gratefull if u could help me with this problem.

Backups of PSP games ( .iso / .cso ) should go in the ISO folder in the root directory.
Kernel 1.50 games folders should go in the PSPGame150 folder.
Kernel 3.xx games folders should go in the3 PSPGame352 folder.
The reference to a CASUAL folder is from a very old firmware... I think that post is more than a year old.

3.71 firmware released! It also appears M33 is infact Dark_AleX:
    http://www.dark-alex.org/
    http://m-33.narod.ru/
It also says that apart from one more thing this is the final Custom Firmware of his. Though there seems to be some confusion whether it is actually him so keep an open mind.

I don't know just general user comments about how Dark_AleX is 'teh awesome M33 suck donkey!' etc.
Installed it seems to work, uses Sony's own installer which is a nice touch. Apparently no kernel 1.5 at the moment, but apparently coming in his final update.

The 1.5 kernel issue is related to PHP 'phat' owners though, isn't it? You don't get 1.5 on a Slim and Lite AFAIK(?)

Yes correct, website says last release will be a patching system for use inside 3.71M33, to add the 1.5 Kernel. Can only be done on a fat psp because the slims screen doesn't like the old firmware or something, I don't know much about it not having a slim.

I like this one, it's my favorite, actually. It even kept the Location Free Player due to not using the 1.50 kernel.
I think it's time for homebrew developers to forget about the 1.50 kernel and adapt to the new one. This is something that custom firmware has allowed for a while now.

For me this means waiting until some one ports the graphics engine that's in the 1.5 version of the Snes emulator because the non fw. 150 version isn't 100% speed.
Also some other 3.XX hombrew has problems, e.g. Pimpstreamer... whereas the 1.50 version works fine.

Chances are the 1.5 kernel patch will come before the emu is updated. That is if you are still using one of the old PSPs.

Has anyone tried the MAME GP2X emulator for the PSP? Does it run at full-speed?

Yup... Homebrew is in another thread linked from the front page of this one.
It works well with quite a bit of stuff... generally doesn't like NeoGeo, CPS1 / 2 stuff, not that that matters because there's other emulators for those.

Ok, sorry, will redirect further questions to that thread, thanks for the feedback.

Well Ive kinda been out of the loop regarding the custom firmware releases for a while and just dug my old 3.10 OE-A` PSP out.
Now I know it`s a launch machine but am a bit stuck regarding how to go to a higher custom firmware.
Say I want to go to the latest M33 and reading the front page of this thread,is this the method I should be following?
    Installing M33 3.52 Custom Firmware:
No easy updater about for this so here we go:
Download the original 1.50 firmware, the 3.52 Official firmware, the M33 Custom firmware and the version 4 update.
    Then:
only if you have 1.50:1 - Once done it, or if you are under any Special/Open Edition/M33, copy M33CREATOR folder to your 'ms0:/PSP/GAME' (1.50fw) or 'ms0:/PSP/GAME150' (SE/OE)
2 - Download official 3.52 eboot, rename it to 352.PBP and place it on 'ms0:/PSP/GAME/M33CREATOR/' or 'ms0:/PSP/GAME150/M33CREATOR/'
3 - Download official 1.50 eboot, rename it to 150.PBP and place it on 'ms0:/PSP/GAME/M33CREATOR/' or 'ms0:/PSP/GAME150/M33CREATOR/'
4 - Go to Games/Memory Stick on your PSP, and execute '3.52 M33 CREATOR'. Once finished, it will go back to the XMB.
5 - Go again to Games/Memory Stick on your PSP, and execute '3.52 M33UPDATE'. You'll have to press X to agree to the installation.
6 - When finished, press X to shut down and reboot manually.
Next stick the version 4 update in your Game150 folder and run that.
  • What's the best/easiest way to downgrade from 3.52? Yes yes I know I should read back....

    Official 3.52?
You'll need to see a mate with a CFW PSP to do the pandora battery trick.

There's an easy installer available now for 3.52 M33 which involves no more than extracting a file to your memory stick and running it from the XMB. Takes about 5 minutes total. Then you can quickly patch it to 3.52 M33-4 in much the same way.
3.71 M33 is also out now, though I haven't tried that yet.
/edit/ Should read first, as it's a bit late now.
